From Beaches to Mountains, from 1 to 8 miles of hiking trails, here are some of what is offered on San Juan Island.

SOUTH END

JAKLE’S LAGOON, MOUNT FINLAYSON:
At least eight miles of trails through the trees - from the water’s edge to the top of the hill. Panoramic views throughout.

SOUTH BEACH:
Four miles of beach walking on a sandy / pebble beach. Private alcoves with views of Olympic Peninsula and Haro Strait. Walk to the lighthouse, or watch for whales, while looking for unique driftwood and agates.

AMERICAN CAMP:
Miles of meadow trails - observe the many varieties of birds (including Bald Eagles and Hawks), foxes, rabbits and the occasional whales. At the water’s edge, look what’s in the numerous tide pools. While you are here, don’t miss the interpretive center, and see how the Americans lived during the "Pig War"

MID ISLAND

ENGLISH CAMP / BELL POINT*:
Two mile trail, encircling the encampment of the British Army.

• ENGLISH CAMP / MOUNT YOUNG*:
Visit the Cemetery, and the panaramic views from atop Mount Young, including Mount Baker and Garrison Bay

• LIMEKILN STATE PARK / WHALE WATCH PARK*:
1/2 mile walk to the lookout point. Visit the lighthouse, and watch for whales! Tidepools and trail (rocky terrain) along the water’s edge.

NORTH END

ROCHE HARBOR RESORT*:
Scenic trail through the quarries. Picturesque views from the viewpoint. Explore the Mausoleum, walk the docks in the marina.

WESTCOTT BAY RESERVE*:
Sculpture park consisting of over 88 sculptures placed in a nineteen acre meadow and forested setting. Walk through the reserve and see sculptures in bronze, stone, wood, metal, glass and ceramic by noted artists from all around the Pacific Northwest.
